New D-day website

Yep it's that day of the year again, June 6th! Today marks the 74th anniversary of the Allied amphibious landing in Northern France which led the way for the liberation of Western Europe from German occupation.

Of course today is also the anniversary of the Red Alert 2 mod D-day, which has now been in development for 16 years. To celebrate I have completely redone the D-day website with a new look and features. I plan to continue working on the new site to add more information and content in the coming weeks, which I'll post updates about on D-day's Facebook and Twitter pages.

In addition to the new website I have also created a Discord chat server for D-day. I will be there as much as I can, so feel free to join in and ask me any question you may have about D-day.

Happy 16th anniversary! Your perseverance with D-Day is inspiring Smile

The revised site is looking better indeed. I especially like the parallax background, gives it a kind of cinematic feeling. However it doesn't properly blend to the gray background at the bottom.

Firefox. It's not that bad, but I have a keen eye for these things #Tongue

hmm yes that is noticeable, however the colour matches in Firefox (as well as edge, chrome & opera) for me & several other people that I've asked. I made sure the rgb values for the html code & img file are the same too. So I presume it's a problem with your monitor, maybe the contrast is really high?

How does that work though? If it's in my monitor, you shouldn't be able to tell from the screenshot. The colour value is unchanged.

I keep contrast at 80%, but since it's a relative value, it's hard to tell what absolute value it corresponds to.

EDIT: I just tested on others browsers & found it is indeed in my Firefox browser, perhaps one of my plugins is blocking a css element or something.

EDIT2: Well, I tested disabling all themes & plugins to no avail. I'm stumped at what's causing it Smile

I checked the rgb colours in your screen shot & the css part is correct but the png image is being darkened.

It links to this image (the bottom gray being #2d2d2d), and the page background colour is #333. So rather, it appears it's missing a layer/modifier that makes the image lighter?
