While Magnetrons are effective at demolishing buildings, they lacked any offensive capability against enemy combat units. The Scrapper Platform was made to fulfill this role. It is a much cheaper artillery platform lower down the tech tree which specialize in damaging enemy infantry and vehicle but not structures. It is armed with a single Scrapper Missile which homes into its target and explode in a mass of poisonous chemical. When elite, this missile has the tendency to contaminate a sizable area. It is slow and lightly armored. It is highly recommended that you keep these artillery units behind the lines where they can outrange targets and strike them without getting attacked themselves.
