The Doomsday, or XE-1 by SSIA designation, is a gigantic heavily armored monster of a tank designed to defeat anything that could possibly be fielded against it on the ground.
The story behind the XE-1 is one that the Invaders would deny (if they were willing to communicate)- as it shows they aren't the ones with the most advanced engineering. The design of the Doomsday was set to fit Invader build protocol 029, calling for heavy armor, incredible firepower, minimal mobility and great size. 3 of these 4 were done easily, but due to complications in the construction, not even the advanced composites the Invaders typically employed for vehicles would work to shield and cover the vehicle.
This is where SSIA technology comes in- despite their lack of technological progress on most fronts following the Augmented uprising, armor technology fielded by the SSIA was far superior (but heavier) in protective qualities to anything the Invaders had. The most advanced armor technologies are used in the manufacturing of the Juggernaut- and are housed in the databases of SSIA Technology Centers found in most major SSIA bases.
Regardless of this, the Doomsday is a rare sight as such technology theft is localized. When it enters the battlefield, its commanding size, incredible firepower and lumbering-"I'm invincible" movement rate ensures that it makes an impression; during one supposed skirmish, a single Doomsday destroyed an entire SSIA armored division, with the exception of its Juggernauts. These Juggernauts actually managed to outrace the Doomsday, close the distance and destroy it- although it supposedly had cost the SSIA 1 of 2 Juggernauts to do it.
Battlefield Observations
>Unmatched Lethality- The Doomsday literally has no equals on the ground. Few, if any weapons can equal just one of the Doomsday's directed energy weapons in raw destructive power.
>Takes an Army to Stop- If its weapons systems were not enough, the Doomsday uses the same armor plating as the SSIA Juggernaut Tank, granting it near invulnerability to wide variety of weapons.
>Absolutely Huge- The Doomsday is so incredibly large that it can simply roll over smaller enemies. That is, if they don't move out of the way- with the Doomsday's speed, nobody is going to be taken by surprise.
