The Plasma Tank, or XT-60 by SSIA designation, is the premier attack unit of the Invader military. Equipped with a Plasma projector weapon, the XT-60 is best suited to fighting masses of enemy vehicles.
This is because the super-charged plasma projectiles, upon impact send large energy waves that inflict large damage to any vehicle or soldier nearby- the effect this has on buildings is minimal due to the wavelength of said energy. A single Plasma Tank can take on a disproportionately larger force of infantry and come out on top. Due to the tuning of the plasma weapon, the effect it has on enemy structures has been noted as insignificant, quite possibly the reason why the protocols for the vehicle specify that a top mounted laser array system be used on defenses. While the damage this weapon does is rather small compared to dedicated units such as the XT-36 (Fusion Tank) or XT-41 (Conversion Tank), the sheer volume of fire the system can put out is enough to bring down most light defenses.
Combine these lethal weapon systems along with the thickest armor for a standard Invader ground vehicle and highest speed among all its counterparts and one will find a force to be reckoned with.
Notes:
The XT-60 is designed to keep pace with the smaller vehicles of the Invader military, and can easily outrace its counterparts, the
Apocalypse Mark II and Juggernaut Tank and maul retreating enemies.
The XT-60 weapon system is designed with killing the mobile enemy in mind. Like many energy weapons of the Invader military, it does not inflict friendly-fire with its plasma cannon system. The same cannot be said for its laser weapon, however.
The XT-60's armor is very similar to the XT-30's, in the fact that the armor is believed to be much thinner than a human vehicle with equivalent protection would need.
Final Note- Vladivostok composite is a Russian armor invention that came after the Second Red War, and is used in great amounts on the Apocalypse Mark II tank.
