There is no deep storyline to The Cold War. There is no crazy mess-up in the Earth's timeline. There is no progressive campaign, that will take you from the 50s to 80s.

This is the Cold War gone hot. Play the Single Player "Scenarios" and progress through the 50's to the 80's, fighting battles of the Cold War that happened, like the Korean Conflict, or the Vietnam War. Fight battles that theoretically could of happened, according to the diplomatic situation of the time. Battles like the Invasion of West Germany, or naval battles in the Pacific.

As the Americans, contain the communist threat, through a series of proxy wars in Korea, Vietnam and other places around the world. Race against the clock as diplomacy goes sour as Soviet cargo ships carrying nuclear missiles close in on Cuba. Launch a strike and disable the missiles before they get operational using the power of the US Navy. Use domination of the air to a devastating effect on Soviet forces.

As the Soviets, use your armored might in numbers and quality in the 50's to crush the weaker NATO forces. Mass deployment becomes the key to success in the later years as NATO technology improves. Crush resistance as you move your armored forces across Europe. Help your client states resist against American containment.
