Weapons: x4 Rocket Pods, x4 Heavy Machineguns
Armor: Light
Speed: Fast
Cost: $1050
Purpose: Anti-Armor, Anti-Infantry, Anti-Air, Harasser
Requires: Airfield

Veteran Upgrades:
-Improvised armor (+25% health)
-Engine tuneup (+25% speed)

Elite Upgrades:
-Larger caliber guns (+25% damage)
-Tiberium munitions (+25% effective vs infantry, vehicles, and structures)

"We neither have sufficient resources nor the technical know how to operate a proper airforce but the ability to strike from above is too advantageous to simply pass over. I will say however that the Shrike is insufficient. Its a small commercial plane which, after being determined to still be flight worthy, is armed with four heavy machineguns and four rocket pods with enough ammo for both to last extended missions. The former is effective at strafing groups of infantry and even for engaging in low level dogfights while the latter is better used against hardier targets like vehicles and structures.

It's general lack of firepower means it might take several passes to destroy certain targets so its better suited at destroying isolated ones where the threat of anti-air fire is minimal. Still, it's lack of speed and armor won't win it many battles in a direct confrontation with opposing CABAL and Scrin fighters. Its a miracle that we even have anyone willing to get into aerial combat, or even fly one of these rust buckets..."

Updated voxel and a few stats change.

Originally it carried an enormous ammo supply allowing it to fire off three salvos of two maverick missiles at vehicles and structures before firing off ten bursts of heavy machinegun fire OR fire thirteen bursts of heavy machinegun fire at infantry and aircraft. Now it only carries 8 points of ammo but it can freely switch between quad heavy machineguns and rocket pods depending on the target.

The quad heavy machineguns deal twice as much splash damage than before and is fired in a strafing manner where it will fire several bursts in a straight line just like the Warthog's gatling gun. This enables it to damage multiple infantry if you lineup it's angle of attack properly. The rocket pods on the other hand is quite straightforward, firing off a salvo of six rockets with each pass. These rockets deal little damage however.

This new setup makes the Shrike better at harassing enemy armor and mowing down groups of infantry since it's large ammo supply enables it to perform it's missions longer but not enough to quickly destroy targets. This does come at the cost of anti-air capability though...

Updated lore. Also Shrikes can now attack air units with it's revised machinegun weapon. I also emulated bullet trails to give it that WW2 fighter plane vibes.
